01Services
Brunel Shipping provides last-mile pickup and delivery services for Merchant's parcels within the Greater Toronto Area ("GTA"), and pass-through national and international shipping via Brunel's commercial carrier accounts.
- Pickup window: daily, during Brunel's published pickup hours for your zone
- GTA delivery service level: next-day delivery, parcels accepted until 9:00 PM
- Delivery zones: per Brunel's published GTA coverage map, available in your merchant dashboard
- Tracking: you and your customers receive branded tracking pages and real-time shipment status via the merchant dashboard and/or API
- Coverage outside the GTA is provided via Brunel's third-party commercial carrier accounts and is subject to that carrier's rates and service levels, passed through at the rate shown at checkout
02Rates & Volume Tiers
Shipment rates are determined by your parcel's weight/size bucket and your account's volume tier. All rates are all-in — no fuel, residential, or peak-season surcharges.
| Bucket | Starter | Growth | Scale |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard (≤10 lb, ≤30 in) | $5.00 | $4.80 | $4.10 |
| Large (10–20 lb, 31–48 in) | $7.50 | $7.05 | $5.85 |
| Oversize (20–30 lb, 49–72 in) | $12.50 | $11.55 | $9.60 |
| Bulky (30 lb+ / 73 in+) | Custom quote — contact your account manager | ||
Volume tiers
There is no minimum shipment volume required at any tier. Tier assignment is based only on your actual average daily volume, and simply determines which rate column above applies to your shipments.
- All Merchant accounts begin service on Growth tier rates, regardless of starting volume
- Upgrade: if your average daily shipment volume sustains the Scale-qualifying threshold for 30 consecutive days, your account is automatically upgraded to Scale tier rates effective the next billing cycle — no action required
- Downgrade protection: once upgraded, your tier will not be reduced for any volume dip lasting less than 90 consecutive days. A downgrade is only assessed if average daily volume remains below the qualifying threshold for 90 consecutive days or more
03Payment & Billing
- Billing cycle: your account is charged daily, for each day's shipments, once pickup for that day is completed
- Payment method: you may pay by pre-authorized bank debit or credit card, connected through Brunel's designated payment processor. Creating an account and connecting a payment method authorizes Brunel to charge that method daily as described above
- Failed payment: if a daily charge fails or is declined, Brunel will notify you and may suspend pickup/delivery service until payment is resolved; a returned-payment fee may apply
- Disputed charges: billing disputes must be raised in writing within 14 days of the charge date; undisputed amounts remain due on schedule
- Late payment: amounts unresolved more than 10 days after a failed charge accrue interest at 1.5% per month, or the maximum permitted by law, whichever is lower
04Shipping Volume
Brunel does not require a minimum shipment volume at any point. You ship as much or as little as your business needs, and your rate is simply determined by your actual volume tier under Section 2.
05Service Guarantee
- Brunel aims for a 95% on-time delivery (OTD) rate, measured monthly across your shipments, as a best-effort service target
- "On-time" means delivery within the service window stated in Section 1 for the applicable service tier
06Data Use & Consent
By using the Services, you consent to Brunel's collection and use of shipment-level operational data (pickup/delivery timestamps, zone, delivery outcome, and related logistics metadata) for service delivery, performance reporting, and Brunel's aggregated/anonymized analytics products.
- Brunel will not disclose Merchant-identifiable data, or your customers' personal information, to third parties for commercial purposes without your prior written consent
- Aggregated, anonymized data derived from your shipments may be used in industry benchmarking or analytics products, provided it cannot reasonably be traced back to you or your customers
07Term & Cancellation
Term
These Terms apply for as long as your account remains active, on a rolling monthly basis.
Cancellation
- You may cancel at any time by giving 30 days' written notice via your account dashboard or by contacting support
Inactive accounts
- If your account has no shipment activity for 6 continuous months, Brunel may treat the account as inactive and reserves the right to close and delete it, with prior notice to the email on file
Termination for cause
- Brunel may suspend or terminate your account immediately for non-payment beyond the cure period in Section 3, or for shipment of prohibited, hazardous, or illegal goods
- Either party may terminate immediately upon written notice if the other materially breaches these Terms and fails to cure within 15 days of notice
08Liability & Insurance
- Brunel maintains commercial general liability and cargo insurance for shipments carried directly by Brunel
- Brunel's liability for lost, damaged, or misdelivered parcels on Brunel-operated GTA shipments is limited to the declared value of the shipment, up to a maximum per parcel as published in your dashboard, unless you've purchased additional declared-value coverage
- Partner carrier shipments: for shipments handled by a third-party partner carrier (including national and international shipments passed through Brunel's commercial carrier accounts), Brunel is not liable for loss, damage, or delay. Liability for those shipments is governed solely by the partner carrier's own terms and insurance coverage
- Brunel is not liable for delays caused by events outside its reasonable control (weather, road closures, third-party carrier disruption, force majeure)
09Confidentiality
Each party agrees to keep confidential any non-public business, pricing, technical, or customer information disclosed by the other in connection with the Services, and to use it solely to perform under these Terms, for 2 years following disclosure.
10General Terms
- Governing law: these Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein
- Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without Brunel's prior written consent; Brunel may assign in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all assets
- Entire agreement: these Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Brunel regarding the Services and supersede all prior discussions
- Changes: Brunel may update these Terms; material changes will be notified via email and in-dashboard notice at least 30 days before taking effect, except for rate card changes, which follow the 60-day notice in Section 2
